Jo
BSc, BTEC Level 5 Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy (NLSSM)
I’m Jo, a Level 5 qualified Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist based in Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, working with everyone from athletes in training to clients managing everyday aches, pain and fatigue. A Level 5 qualification is currently the highest vocational standard in the UK for soft tissue therapy, which means I’m trained to assess, treat and support more complex injuries and long‑term issues than many general massage therapists. I qualified in 2018 with a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy from NLSSM and am a member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA), the professional governing body for soft tissue therapists.
Alongside sports and remedial massage, I have specialist training in lymphatic work, including manual lymphatic drainage techniques to support recovery from injury, surgery, swelling and fluid retention. My treatments draw on a wide range of clinical techniques – deep tissue and general massage, soft tissue release, friction for soft tissue sprains and strains, neuromuscular techniques for short, tight and overworked muscles, and targeted lymphatic approaches – to create sessions that are fully tailored to your needs. Whether you are preparing for or recovering from an event, training regularly, managing a specific injury, living with chronic niggles or postural tension, or seeking gentle, restorative lymphatic-focused work, each treatment is designed to support your whole-body wellbeing.
I am committed to continual professional development and regularly invest in advanced courses and specialist training to expand and refine my skills. This ongoing learning allows me to integrate the latest evidence‑informed techniques into my practice and adapt treatments for older clients, complex presentations and anyone who prefers a more considered, gentle approach. My focus is always on helping you move better, feel better and support your long‑term health, using soft tissue and lymphatic therapy as a key part of your wider self‑care and performance routine.
